On further investigation, both nearside front and side repeater bulbs are tested as being ok, but are not flashing when operated. Rear does work, but with a high blink rate. Now suspect a wiring.

(I recently replaced the tailgate wiper seal, which has now cured the issue of water getting in, could it be damage caused from the water?, I did not notice any dampness in the front footwell.

After checking both side, the one that worked was showing current flow through a multimeter whereas the left side marker was showing no current flow. So this means we have one side wiring not working. Also on actual plug (the one that attaches to the side marker, I could see some sections of the plastic burnt)

Remove each of the side repeaters from the mirror so that you can get to the bulb holders and remove each bulb. Measure the resistance between the outer metal of the bulb holder and the battery negative terminal.

Tried the indicators using the stalk and all left indicators work but no right ones. Tried hazards and again, no right indicators working. You can hear a faint "squeek" coming.

I drive a 2007 Mk3 Mondeo 2.0 tdi estate. The nearside indicator has stopped working completely, i.e. front, rear and side repeater. The green light on the speedo cluster also doesn't light up. Swapped the fuses under the bonnet and in the glovebox fusebox. I've swapped them completely as I'm aware that these micro fuses are notorious for.

I get it where the orange bulb can lose its colour so it becomes more clear. But what I don't get is how you get to the bulb within the mirror unit.

Posted 24 February 2021 - 08:58 PM. OK, so you have done something to the front indicators and the side repeaters and now both side repeaters aren't working. You should not have affected the wiring for the repeaters by just replacing the front bulb holders but it is worth checking continuity between the live and earth terminals on each side.
